Pastel Frogs (aka a slight fail)

Hey everyone! Today I'm showing you what turned out to be a bit of a failure, which was frustrating because I put quite a bit of effort into these. These were inspired by a t-shirt my mum's goddaughter was wearing over christmas (picture below), but they didn't turn out as I hoped. You may or may not be able to make out (it's more obvious on my pointer finger) that I actually drew the lilypads in light blue. I stupidly chose to use a grey base rather than white and the colours just blended together once I added topcoat. They were actually quite different before which is why I continued with the design! I was however really happy with the frogs which is why I still wanted to show you the design, especially the one on my ring finger.

I used OPI - I Cannoli Wear OPI as my base, and then I used Barry M - Huckleberry for the lilypads. Then I used OPI - Don't Mess With OPI for the leaves and stems, Deborah Lippmann - Walking on Sunshine for the flowers, and Mavala - Pistachio for the frogs. Then I used Barry M - Matte Topcoat after a coat of Seche Vite to smooth things over

My inspiration

What do you think? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Aww the little froggies are adorable! I think it looks good, the background is just subtle, all the better for making the little frogs stand out :)
