Can't Let Go of Summer

Hey everyone! So summer is officially over, but I couldn't resist one last summery design. These were my original design for the beauty and the beach competition, of all my failed designs this was my favourite but looking back on it now it's probably the worst and it's a good job I didn't choose it. Even still, it would make great a simple and easy design for summer, if it wasn't over!

The base for these was Essence - That's What I Mint, sponged with Barry M - Blueberry, then with MASH - White, then with Butter London - Cuppa. I'm not sure about the colours used for the details, but it was topped off with Seche Vite

Barry M Autumn/Winter 2013 Royal Glitter Nail Polish Collection

Hey everyone! Today I have another Barry M collection to show you, this time the Royal Glitter collection, which is a collection of textured glitters. These are just like the OPI Liquid Sand polishes, but much much cheaper, and definitely a great alternative for those who don't want to spend too much! These polishes will be released on the 25th September in Superdrug and the 2nd October in Boots and will be sold for £3.99 each.

For all these pictures I used 2 coats of Seche Vite on the index and ring fingers to show you what the polishes look like with topcoat. The rest of the post will be after the jump otherwise it will be a bit too long

New Video Tutorial: Boston Terrier Dog Nails

Hey everyone! Today I have a brand new youtube tutorial for you all, it's been more than 3 months since my last one so it was definitely time! When I posted my Boston Terrier nails I got a few requests for a tutorial, and although I originally intended to a picture tutorial, I thought it would perhaps be easier to understand if I did a video tutorial. I didn't have long to do these nails at all, which is why they look very rushed, but I'm sure if you're taking time you can do a better job than me!

If you're wondering what I have on my nails, my post for those nails is here. I have an unfortunate habit of picking polish off, which is why they're chipped, I promise you the wraps stay for ages!

Let me know what you think in the comments!

Then and Now: Scrabble Love Nails

Hey everyone! Today's post is another then and now post, but it's a little different. You may remember that a couple of weeks ago I mentioned that I was the featured artist for Scratch nail wraps this September, and one of the designs they chose to make in to wraps was my scrabble love nails, which for a very long time were my most popular nails ever. I therefore decided it would be quite cool to do a then and now post with the wraps, so it's not really a matter of skill comparison, just photography, but hopefully you still like it! As always the old design will be after the jump

Barry M Autumn/Winter 2013 Classic Matte Nail Polish Collection

Hey everyone! Today I have one of Barry M's exciting new collections to show you, the Classic Matte collection. I'll be posting the Royal Glitter collection and the other new polishes within the next week. They are due for release on the 25th September in Superdrug and October 2nd in Boots. I'm really impressed with this whole collection, and with what I've seen of the other collections. Barry M has really pulled it out of the bag this time!

I'll put the rest of the post after the jump otherwise it may end up being too long

Essie - Then and Now: Review, Nail Art +GIVEAWAY

Hey everyone! Today I have an exciting new colour by Essie to show you called 'Then and Now'*. I hope I didn't confuse you too much with the title, I know some of you were probably expecting one of my comparison posts between my old work and new work,  but alas, today is just some new work, which hopefully you shall enjoy just as much! Essie have teamed up with Then and Now to create this gorgeous grey/brown shade. You can buy it here on their website but I will also be giving away a bottle to one lucky reader, you can enter using the Rafflecopter widget below.

For these nails I started off with 2 extremely easy coats of Essie - Then and Now* and I used Nicole by OPI - Spring Break* and Nicole by OPI - Selena* for the roses, along with Rimmel - Misty Jade* for the leaves, all topped off with a coat of Seche Vite.

Fish Bones + Tutorial

Hey everyone! Sorry for the gap in posting, I'm becoming an awful blogger and I hate myself for it. Today's post is another tutorial I did for Licila using Rococo - Flower Child, the gorgeous yellow that so many of you drooled over in my Rococo swatch post, and also Rococo - Hip-Hop, with the additional use of Barry M nail art pens, as you shall see in the tutorial. This design was inspired by a picture I saw on WAH Nails Instagram a few months ago, if you dig around you can probably still find it.

Step 1: Paint your nails yellow
Step 2: Do a gradient using a make-up sponge, see Sammy's tutorial here if you're unsure how to do gradients
Step 3: Using a black Barry M nail art pen, draw the outline of the fish. Start with the head by drawing a triangle, and then do the backbone coming down, then draw the fins, and then add the ribs
Step 4: Using white polish and a thin brush, colour in the fins and the head
Step 5: Using a black Barry M nail art pen draw the eye of the fish
Step 6: Finish off with a topcoat to seal in your design, and you’re done!

What do you think?

Then and Now: Cath Kidston + Tutorial

Hey everyone! It's been a while since my last Then and Now post so I thought it was about time to bring it back. I have done a tutorial for these nails as well which I'll post as a quick tutorial rather than a detailed one because I'm pretty tired. Today's post, as the title suggests, is a recreation of my Cath Kidston nails. You can see my original post, from just over a year ago here. As always, the 'then' will be after the jump, and this time the tutorial will be too!
